FNS® Plus D.E. filters were designed to use curved grids.  Curved grids maximize filtration area. More area for filtration of course means better performance and longer periods between cleanings.  The internals of the Pentair FNS has been refined to keep flow restrictions to a minimum, and as a result, requires minimal pumping power to reach the required flow rate. That means lower utility costs.
